Our Mission
First Baptist Church Navarre is committed to Helping Folks Follow Jesus as We Gather, Grow, and Go. That means we are continually seeking God for how to do the things He as called us to do. We didn’t try to come up with a clever list of things to do. Instead we asked Jesus to show us through His Word what He wanted. We came to realize that Jesus has given every church at least four priorities. These priorities are in addition to the basic task of worshiping Jesus in our weekly gathering as a church. First, every church is called to Make Disciples. That is the Great Commission. That doesn’t mean inundating church attenders with a lot of information. That means helping them become disciples of Jesus who then make more disciples of Jesus. Our goal is a disciple making movement of at least four generations. Second, Jesus calls the church a House of Prayer. That means we pray, not just talk about praying. We know we can’t do anything apart from God’s power. He wants us to ask Him diligently as we seek, surrender, and serve Jesus. We regularly take extra time to pray together as part of our worship experience.Third, our mission includes Saturating Our Community with the Gospel. Each believer is called to evangelism. That happens with big picture thrusts, fun events, and personal conversations. Jesus tells us that following Him will result in us being fishers for souls. If our society’s greatest need is salvation, then that is also our highest priority.Fourth, Jesus calls us to be Salt and Light in our community, meaning our presence is to make our area a better place. That’s why we serve outside our church. We want to bless others like our first responders, school workers, military community, vacationers, and business leaders. The goal of our service is to point others to Jesus, as the Savior and Lord.
